Structured Cabling
Systems
Structured Cabling enables
the homeowner to operate electronic equipment
from any room in the house. The concept
is simple: plug a phone in any room, plug
a cable TV or Satellite TV into any room,
watch a video tape or DVD from any room,
listen to an audio system anywhere and
even operate a printer from computers
around the home without struggling with
wires.
A simple and inexpensive cabling system allows you to deliver any service to any room, without complicated technology or any software to learn. It works similarly to how electricity is brought to each of your rooms; a panel is located in the garage with wires carrying electric power to each room.
A Structured Cabling System works in the same manner, except the wires carry communication signals (i.e. video, telephone, LAN). Special Communication outlets with phone, fax, data, audio or video jacks are installed in each room, a Distribution Panel is mounted in the home, and wires are run between the panel and each room supplying phone, video or audio signals to each jack.
With the "flip of a switch" these services can be enabled or disabled into every room in the house.
